How to Use
B12 Storage
- Refrigeration is okay; you do not need to freeze
- Allowing medication to be at room temperature before injecting yourself is best!
B12 Schedule
Instructions for weekly dosing, give 1 mg injection deep SubQ/IM every week for 8 weeks to replenish vitamin B12 levels.
B12 Injection Tips
Studies have shown that SubQ and IM injections are equally effective in correcting Vitamin B12 deficiency in the long term, as they deliver the vitamin directly into the systemic circulation. If you want a rapid response, do the IM route. If you are okay with a gradual response, do the SubQ route:
- Use an alcohol wipe on the area before injecting yourself.
- Have a plan for disposing of the injection needle (old laundry soap container?)
